What you feel after reading the headline ? It is the question I faced from one of my local client. He is having a website which covers local real estate and private finance. He changed some of the details in his home page before three days. His website is an old one with a decent Page Rank. Google cached the latest home page very soon and he was very happy. Today morning when he check google for his website he saw the old version of his home page as the cached page. So he called me and asked this question "Why google is showing my old website data even after it cached the latest home page?"

First of all I convinced him by saying it is a normal phenomena as google is having multiple data centers to fetch data to show search result. The time to update each data center is different. In this case one or two data centers may be updated his latest website details but others are not. So if the local search fetch data from the updated google data center ,it will display the latest website information. If google fetch data from other data centers (those who are not updated with the latest website details) it will display the old information. When google spiders for that data center crawl his website or data centers share the latest information, this issue will be fixed.

Today one of my colleague presented a nice topic in our team meet. It is about the major factors which affect the CTR of a blog /website. In my previous posts I mentioned how much importance this CTR for generating decent income from a website. There are many arguments present about the average CTR (Click Through Rate) of a website but none of them has any base. It is because only the google adsense and other PPC programs knows the average CTR of websites in particular niche. Till now they don't disclose the details about the average CTR and all other theories are based on guess. Even though we don't know the actual CTR , we have a list of factors which affects the CTR.

The major factors are:

2. CTR depends on the relevancy of ads display

The current project (One of the :)  ) I am doing is for a marketing website which targets the audience from a specific country. Client clearly told me that they don't care even their website is not appearing in google results in other countries but they want high SERP for the particular country. Because I am bounded to some legal agreement I cannot disclose the country for which the website belongs (I know that is not very important for this post). Lets assume the website is targeting the country Australia, New Zealand or UK. Suppose the website is targeting people from UK,what steps you can perform in order to make sure your website will get high SERP for that country???


There are some simple points we need to remember while optimizing a website for one particular country(country specific optimization).  The steps are:


1. Try to get domain name with country code


It is very important to use a country specific domain name for our website to get high Search result in that country. So according to this theorem www.domain.co.uk will out perform other domains in Search Results from UK.


2. Host our website in the same country


It is another important point which we never neglect. If we are targeting the audience from Australia it is better we host our website in Australian based servers(Websites physically in Australia).


3. Get back links from websites based on that country

If we want to get high Search Result for a particular country, we need to get back links from websites based on that country. It will be nice if we can mange links from government or other reputed organization's website.


4. Have a local language translation of our website

If the country which we target is not a English speaking country (English is not the primary language) ,we should have a local language translation of our website.

We should specify the country which we target in google webmaster tool settings.

The question above is usually asked by most of the newbies in adsense. It is because they are curious to know whether the adsense will make enough income for their daily bread!!! I have been with google adsense for more than 4 years and experienced with different niches. May be my experience is too low to make any valid opinion about the average google adsense income generated from 1000 page impressions. In my experience the above five factors are very important in determine the adsense income. Selecting the correct niche if the first step we need to take if you are planing to be a professional blogger. The niches like health, Forex, Technology etc are generating high income compared to niches like entertainment, music, image hosting etc. So be careful while selecting a niche for your future plan. The second important factor in determining the adsense income from a blog or website is the CTR. CTR is the acronym for Click Through Rate. it is the ratio of total valid click with total ads impressions. To get a decent income from google adsense we should have high CTR.

The other two factors are the google ads placement and the traffic to the website. To get high CTR we should have good ads placement. It is actually an art than a technical one.It various from one website to another. By doing many experiments only we can actually determine the better ad placement for a particular website. Traffic is very important as without traffic there is no room for clicks on ads. So to get decent traffic should be the primary target.


Now let me tell my experience in generating income from 1000 page impressions. From technology related sites I am getting around $3 to $7. I cannot give a rigid digit as my income various from day to day. From my entertainment websites I am getting very low income but the CTR is high compared to tech sites. It is because the tech site readers are usually techie guys and they know how to avoid clicks on ads. My friend has a Forex blog with decent traffic. He earns more compared to my tech sites.

My friend had a blog which was getting a decent amount of traffic. Three months before he shut down the blog and requested google to remove the indexed pages of his website(blog)through google web master tools. Now there is not even a single pages of his blog is in google Search Results due to the request he made. Why I am writing this story is ,yesterday he called me and ask my help to restart his blog. Steps to get in google results for a website removed through web master tools

It should be noted that his website disappeared from google Search Results not by any google penalty or google ban. It is by his manual removal of his website by giving request to remove indexed pages through google web master tools. So to get back his website in google search results we should follow the steps provided below.


1. Cancel the removal request from google web master tools

The first steps you should do is cancel the removal request which was made by you in google web master tools. To perform this you should log on to the web master tools and cancel the raised request made by you.


2. Check robots.txt

We need to make sure that the robots.txt of your website is not blocking google spiders. There is a chance that while removing your website from google search results you may disallow google spiders by writing deny rule for google spiders.


3. Submit sitemap.xml in google web master tools

You should submit the new sitemap.xml of your website in google webmaster tools.


4. Manage to get a link from high PR web page

It should be nice to get a link from high Page Rank relevant web page to your website.


After performing the steps mentioned above your website will be re-indexed in google search results.
