How to Retrieve my Google Analytics code from my Analytics account?

This is the question asked by one of my friend who is a web master. He added google analytics in his website and it was working fine. Last day he updated his website structure and lost the google analytics code. He now want to insert the analytics code back but failed to find the code in his google analytics account.

Actually it is very simple to retrieve the tracking code from google analytics account. By following the steps we can retrieve the code:

1. Log in to your Google Analytics account

2. Select the website profile

3. From that profile's Actions column, click on Edit button

4. On right hand top you can see a link Check Status

Click on Check Status

5. Now you can see the analytics tracking code

You can paste this code on the body of the web page which you want to track the traffic.

There is a confusing question arise in-front of every newbie Search Engine Marketing guys, " Which is easy and more profitable , I am having 10 websites with 5000 visitors or 5000 different websites with 10 visitors each .

It is easy to develop websites with low visitor count compared to the efforts to create a high traffic website or blog. I saw the natural growth of my blog because of the quality of content. So when my blog got 500 visitors per day , it started to generate income from it. When I was running multiple blogs also I was getting a net total of 500 visitors but the income was less. So in my experience it is better create a single website with decent traffic than maintain multiple blogs with low traffic.

After placing google adsense on blog or website every one starts dream about the potential income from this ads program. They starts calculate the average daily adsense income from their blog by calculating the possible available traffic to their website. I am writing this article to give a rough idea of possible adsense income from a particular amount of traffic. Lets check the minimum traffic required to earn $100 per day from google adsense

The simple calculation provided below will give you an idea of required traffic to earn $100 per day. Here we assume that you are getting quality traffic (traffic from Search Engines).

Average traffic to get $100 per day

Here we go...

i. Our target is $100 per day.

ii. Average CTR = 1.5% (It is the normal CTR)

iii. Average CPC = $0.2 ( Depends many factors )

iv. Page Impressions = 1.5 X { Unique Visitors (Traffic) } ----> Again normal calculation as an ordinary visitor visitor visits 1.5 pages in our website.


So to find the required traffic the formula is:

Clicks * CPC =Income Where clicks = CTR * Page Impressions --->Where CTR is in percent

Here Clicks = 100/ 0.2

= 500

CTR = [Clicks /Page Impressions] * 100

1.5 = [500/ Page Views ]* 100

=> Page Views = (500 * 100 )/ 1.5

=> Page Views = 50000 / 1.5

=> Page Views = 33333.33




Now to earn $ 100 per day with CTR 1.5 and CPC 0.2 we need 33333 Page views. In our assumption Page Views is the multiple of 1.5 and traffic.


So

Traffic = Page Views / Pages visited by unique visitor

= 33333 / 1.5

= 22222

So the required traffic to our website to earn $100 per day is 22222 visits.

I will start reduce the amount paying for PPC campaigns as the organic traffic to my website increases.

2.Using Social Bookmarking sites to bring traffic to my website

We cannot avoid the power of social bookmarking sites to bring traffic to our website. In order to gain traffic to our website from public bookmarking sites we need to bookmark our website in those sites with an eye catching title. People should click on the link while reading the title. It is also important to get more votes for our bookmarks , as it will make sure our bookmarks stay on the home page. As long as our bookmark stay on the home page ,we will get a decent traffic.

Major bookmarking sites I use for obtaining traffic are: Digg ,stumbleupon ,reddit ,mixx etc

PS: Please note that if you are using social bookmarking for link building most of the sites are useless as they provide either nofollow links or redirected links.


3. Use twitter and other social network sites to bring traffic

Social network sites have potential to bring traffic to your website. One of my good traffic source is Twitter. I am not seeing any importance for twitter in case of SEO but cannot avoid the power of twitter as a traffic generator.


4. Advertisements in local classifieds can bring traffic to our website

Another good source of traffic is local classifieds. You can get listed your business websites in local classified and it may draw some traffic to your website. While providing ads make sure that your ads are optimized and attractive.

5. Press releases and printed ads

Another good way to attract traffic to our website is press releases and new paper clippings. It can bring traffic to your website for few days.


6. Video Promotion of your website

Create an attractive video for your business and business site and upload it to youtube or metacafe. This can bring traffic to your website.



7. Get listed your business in search engine local business center

Though it is a part of organic traffic, we can list t here. Never forget to list your business site in major search engines local business center. I have already written articles related to local business center.
