5 Blogging Mistakes That Can Be Fixed Easily

This is a guest post by Crystal J. Briscoe about five common Blogging Mistakes That Can Be Fixed Easily. One of the most annoying things about reading a really good blog content is the inability to navigate the blog or change the view with ease. While most bloggers usually make certain errors while building their blogs, the following are some of the mistakes that can make your blog useless and what you can do to fix them.

1) Using Mysterious Fonts For Your Blog Contents

Whereas making use of distinct fonts to design your blog logo or to create titles for your sidebars can provide your site with a unique look, they should not be used for creating blog content. Fonts that every blogger should use when developing contents for their sites are Times New Roman, Georgia and Serif. This is because these fonts are easy to read by virtually anyone.

2) Building A Compacted Content Zone

First-time web developers usually make the error of stuffing their content in a small region on their blog sites. For instance a 250 pixel sidebar on the left that is followed by a 400 pixel content, which is then followed by a 250 pixel sidebar placed on the right. Using this type of structure, your blog content occupies less than 50 percent space on your site. Note that, the content is the main reason for creating the blog. If you prefer to stuff your blog with ads, thus compromising on the blog content, you will be losing a lot of readers.

3) Putting A Sidebar on The left-hand Side of Your Blog

Unless published in Arabic, a book is usually read from the left to the right side. By choosing to place a sidebar on the left-hand side of your blog, you will essentially be drawing away their attention from the main blog content. As such, when creating a blog, make sure that the contents are placed on the left side of the website.

4) Installing Audio and Video Files Which Loads Automatically

There is nothing as irritating as opening a blog and the audio or video file starts to play automatically. Foremost, it is thoughtless to the reader that might not be captivated or able to view the video files, for instance at work. It becomes even more irritating when someone has begun to read the content and is already engrossed in the flow only to be disrupted by a video or audio file. You can use audio or video
files as a means of increasing time on the blog. But, do not use them in a way that they scare the reader.

5) Failing To Update Your Blog

Of what use is a blog if it has stale content? If you want to get endless traffic to your blog, ensure that the contents are updated on a regular basis. In addition, when users post comments, you need to respond to them in a timely manner. The moment you forget about your blog, your audience will also forget about it. The good news is that these mistakes can easily be avoided by following the tips given herein.

Whenever I tell friends I had a tough day at the office, they laugh at me. That's because they know I don't really have an office. I work very hard but I work for a company that is completely remote. Only a few of my co-workers ever go into an office at all and when they do, it's only for short periods of time. Our "office" is a virtual one. To us, the traditional office workplace is a thing of the past, alongside Tyrannosaurus Rex, the slide rule, and telephones where you stick your finger in a hole and turn a dial.
Unfortunately, none of this prevents me from having tough days. I still have them. But the reasons have nothing to do with the fact that my co-workers and I don't have a brick and mortar edifice that we can use to plan, strategize, hold our meetings, make presentations, discuss sensitive business topics, build relatio…
