A person with Indian Citizenship can loose it by three different ways. Different methods to loose Indian citizenship of a person is defined in The Citizenship Act 1955. According to the Citizenship Act 1955, one person with Indian Citizenship can loose Indian citizenship
by following three ways. They are renunciation, termination and deprivation. Let us check each in details.
1. Renunciation
Renunciation is a voluntary act by a person holding Indian Citizenship. For example if one citizen has obtained citizenship of another country, he may abjure Indian citizenship.
2. Termination
It is an action taken place by the operation of law when an Indian citizen voluntarily acquires the citizenship of another country.
3. Deprivation
Deprivation is the forced cancellation of Indian citizenship of a person by Government of India.
